4. If your dad is in the game of Sudoku then why not consider getting him a toilet roll that has hundreds of these games printed on them.  So allowing him to pass the time should he need to spend longer than usual sat on the toilet.  In fact he may disappear to the bathroom just to play the games on them because they become so addictive.

5.
